History

This year marks the 5th Annual Shave for the Brave and we know it will be the biggest and baldest yet!

Since 2006, the success of the Shave for the Brave has been growing at an amazing 60% each year, going from $40,000 in funds raised in 2006 to over $198,000 in 2009.  We just know we will top that in 2010!

The event itself has evolved a great deal over the past few years.  Young Adult Cancer Canada (YACC) has unofficially welcomed individual and group Shaves of all sorts and sizes locally, and in other parts of the country.  But for the first time, this year we’re inviting any and all interested schools/businesses/individuals to organize and participate in Shaves in their own home towns.  We’re even encouraging groups to issue challenges for a little healthy competition!

The Shave for the Brave has grown from one Community event in St. John’s, NL, to a SERIES of events in different locations across Canada.
